Like mythical creatures?

Today I am introducing Marge C. Avantis, the author of Forbidden Wings and The Legend of ELPanda Paws.
With a degree in Early Child Education, Marge’s occupation as an early grades teacher gives her insight into the stories children enjoy. She has written short stories, puppet dialogues, and activities for preschool curriculum. Now retired, she writes full time, bringing to the mid grade readers books she calls “fables.”
She brings mythical creatures such as fairies, elves, mermaids, pixies, and other strange beings to her stories. She now offers her first two ‘fables’ for Mid graders: “THE LEGEND OF ELPANDA PAWS” and “FORBIDDEN WINGS, A MERMAID’S STORY” both as e-books and print.
She is presently working on her third Fable, “PIXIES OF THE FERNS: FERNELLA’S MAGIC.” She also plans to launch her upper teen historical series, HANK OF TWIN RIVERS,” this year. The HANK books is a coming of age story. The story takes place in 1855 and tells of Hank’s sometimes dangerous and always exciting adventures while following the Oregon Trail and helping his Pa set up a trading post for pioneers passing the merging Platte River in Nebraska.
In the future she hopes to publish her preschool “Back Yard” Story Books, featuring BeeBeau Bumblebee, Merle Squirrel, Bitty Blue Jay, and their friends who live in America’s back yard. These stories have been read and enjoyed by the thousands of her students. Now retired her, life has been filled with younguns .. (As Hank would say) .. hundreds of students throught the years and her own five children, grandchildren, and they just keep coming. Keeping track of family is her hobby. Writing is her occupation.

The Legend of Elpanda Paws

Only Elves with love and happiness in their hearts can make the bears properly insuring that each bear carries love and comfort for these children. Negative feelings are discouraged in ELVanland. Frowning, fussing, criticizing and crying are rarely seen or heard. The ELVanites know that these feelings bring on unhappiness and disease. From early childhood they are taught to push any sad feelings out of their thoughts by thinking happy thoughts instead. ELVina, Head of Production, finds her elf workers suddenly afflicted with the negative disease, an illness that makes them slow and careless. This situation will ruin their reputation as bear makers. Something is wrong in ELVanland. Something is terribly wrong!
